                    "Silent Wales"

For 30 years Paul was a secondary school teacher. In 2001 he decided he'd had enough of teaching and made a change of career. Since 1997, he'd been accompanying silent films for his local film society so the decision to write music and accompany silent films wasn't entirely unexpected. He's made this a full time career ever since. He has been the regular pianist for the National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales for over 15 years and has played at many festivals. His favourite venue is the Arts Centre in Aberystwyth where each year he composes and performs a programme of silent films for the Abertoir Horror Festival. Next month he'll be playing for the famous 1925 Russian film "Strike" at the AAC.
