Our guest speaker this monthis a marine fishery biologist who has spent his career working alongside UK commercial fishermen.
In the mid 1980's he became director of the Fisheries Laboratory in Conwy until its closure in 1999.
The role of the Conwy Laboratory was to undertake research into fish and shellfish cultivation and the effects of fishing on the marine environment.
Educated at a grammar school in Kent, in 1967 he gained a BSc at Hull University and in 1972 a PhD at the University of East Anglia..
In 1990 he became a Chartered Biologist and Fellow of the Institute of Biology
After a life time of impressive qualifications and appointments he has now been an independent Consultant since 1999.
