MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 3RD MAY 2023

  1. The minutes of the 2022 AGM were not circulated but a copy was available if required.
  2. The chairperson opened the meeting and explained that the current committee stand down and nominations for committee members would be taken.
    There were no further nominations and all the current committee had agreed to stand again in their current roles.
  3. President’s Report.
    The president thanked the committee and gave a short resume of the activities of the society in the last year.
    She reported that we had lost some members and were now operating at a potential loss unless new members could be recruited. Current member numbers were 66 we really need 80. Members were prompted to invite friends to join.
    The president welcomed Clive Branson as Secretary and Susan Potter as new committee member.
    (Beryl Naybour and Karen Black have resigned as Secretary and Speaker secretary respectively after several years excellent service.)
  4. Election of the Committee
    The President asked the meeting if they were happy to re-elect the current committee, in their current role en-bloc. This was proposed by Glenys Arden and seconded by Persephone Miller and the meeting voted in favour.
